About:

Amin Mehrabian is an assistant professor of petroleum and natural gas engineering. He’s been at Penn State since 2017. Prior to coming to Penn State, he was a principal engineer at Houston Technology Center of Halliburton Energy Services. His research interest is in the mechanics and physics of porous media with applications to petroleum geomechanics. Mehrabian holds a B.Sc. in petroleum engineering, a B.Sc. in mechanical engineering and an M.Sc. in mechanical engineering from Sharif University of Technology and a Ph.D. in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Mehrabian holds a U.S. patent grant on managed pressure drilling.
