About:

Wang is an associate research professor at Penn State. Wang received a B.S. in chemistry from Zhejiang Normal University in China and a Ph.D. in catalysis, physical chemistry from Xiamen University in China. After graduation, Wang joined Penn State as a postdoctoral researcher. He specializes in catalytic conversion of energy resources, including petroleum, natural gas, and biomass, and the synthesis, characterization, and evaluation of porous functional materials, such as microporous and mesoporous materials for energy related applications. His current research interests include catalysis and adsorption for fuel processing, desulfurization/purification of bio-gas, natural gas, and other fuel gases, reforming of hydrocarbons and bio-fuels for hydrogen production and carbon dioxide capture, conversion, and utilization. He has published more than fifty peer-reviewed journal articles and one book chapter; holds two U.S. patents and two world patents; and has delivered eighty-four presentations and twelve invited talks at international/ national conferences/workshops. Wang is a guest associate editor in carbon capture, storage, and utilization, and a review editor in catalytic engineering for the Journal of Frontiers in Energy Research. Wang is also a recipient of the Outstanding Young Researcher Award at the Fifteenth International Conference on Carbon Dioxide Utilization.
